New York, Part 3: Decor

I'd gotten off the train and was walking downtown to Union Square. Happened upon ABC Carpet and Home. I honestly cried. It was only a bit, but ohg!

I liked the art nouveau doors and gold-inlay bowls best. The chandeliers and all the reflective surfaces were wonderfully overwhelming.

ABC Carpet and Home is a really embarrassing name, but it has one of the most eccentrically beautiful interiors I've seen. Too many vendors, too overpriced and overvalued, too many chandeliers, too much electricity consumed - it was all so good.

New York, Part 2: Museum of Sex + the Bibliothek

I went to the Museum of Sex with Priscilla. Needless to say, we were very amused. There were three galleries: animals, sex in films, then weird porn/toys. Strangely enough, only the animal gallery was of any interest (you should see below). But I did learn that Japanese people are very interested in octopus erotica (why?)

I know orange and brown are overused around this time of year, but little acorns on napkin ribbons are simple and v cute.

I like me some feathers.

Very cheap and very simple. Just as a hollowed-out pumpkin makes a great vase, a mini pumpkin makes a great base for candles or nearly any height.

I am not pretending to be The Sartorialist. I only like them a lot. I don't give a shit if ppl are chic and stylish - these old guys are so cute! How can you not like the fur hat, pudgy tummies, little feetsies, clever glasses frames, and walking stick, ah?

By the time I left my friend's house after a cheese-fest, it was raining again. Not the sort of glasses-fuzzling drizzling or steady streaming, but just light and seldom. Really nice sort of raining.

I put up my umbrella and was careful to skirt around the many puddles and squishy leaves.

I could feel the rain hit the fabric very well and it was very loud. I realized that I was the only loud thing all around me. I was walking past a grass field in the middle of the academic buildings, the neon tunnel, and the botanical garden. There was hardly any wind and only scattered rain drops. I was the only loud thing!

Let down the umbrella and and fully flopped about in my flip flops. I made sure to step in all the big puddles, and the little ones if I could.

We're studying Antoni Gaudi of turn-of-the-century Barcelona in Home as a Work of Art at the moment. Have a lot o' love for that class - don't quite know which minor to choose now.

Have also decided that he is functional fantasy - on acid!
